Participation in Education is the main way out of poverty and this pathway must remain open to every child.

"Their mother died in tragic circumstances in January and as a result the father is in psychiatric care. The children have spent the last six months with their paternal grandparents, however they have had to move to their maternal grandparents as their paternal grandfather has been taken suddenly seriously ill. They have moved across with limited clothing so we are asking for your help to provide these children with a school uniform and basic clothing.'

Growing up is hard enough, yet thousands of Victorian children go to school each year without warm clothing and good quality shoes.

Teachers have reported that inappropriate school clothing triggers a range of negative consequences from bullying through to children not attending school.

State Schools’ Relief offers a simple solution. Our practical service ensures that every student, regardless of their background, can fully participate in education.

Having a uniform and looking like everyone else ensures that all students feel included and valued. It provides everyone, regardless of background, with the opportunity to participate fully in schooling.

State Schools' Relief is unique; no other Australian State has a similar organisation.  Our service promotes each childs dignity because the service is run anonymously through the schools.

It would be almost impossible to find a State School, no matter how prosperous, which has not had at least one student who has received assistance from us in the past 83 years.

We have supported tens of thousands of young Victorians and their families, clothing 1 in 60 kids for school each year.  We remain the leading agency providing material support to young people in Victorian government schools.

Make a Donation

A donation to State Schools' Relief makes a “real difference” to a Victorian child. We provide assistance directly to the child through quality school clothing, footwear, socks and underwear.

100% of your donation goes toward providing quality clothing and footwear to disadvantaged students in Victoria. Not one cent of your donation will go towards supporting the organisation's administration needs. State Schools' Relief acknowledges the support of the Victorian Government.

Donations over $2 are fully tax deductible.
