Home > State Schools’ Relief supports 25,000th child since release of Year 7 Uniform Package

State Schools’ Relief are proud to announce the 25,000th child has been provided with support since 1st December 2015 when the Year 7 Uniform Package was released. This significant milestone was met on Monday, 16th May 2016.
The Year 7 Uniform Package offers all Year 7 students enrolled in the Camps, Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF) with a basic uniform package to assist families with the cost of starting in secondary school.  In January, this program was expanded to all Prep students enrolled in the CSEF.  These two programs have greatly assisted the breadth of support provided by the organisation.
State Schools' Relief gratefully acknowledges the support of the Victorian Government and the Department of Education and Training which has allowed us to reach this milestone.
A presentation will be held at River Secondary College on Friday, 20th May to acknowledge the importance of this occasion.  We are delighted that State Schools’ Relief Ambassador and State Member of Carrum District Sonya Kilkenny will be joining the presentation.
State Schools’ Relief is a not for profit charity that has been supporting the needs of disadvantaged government schools students by assisting them with new school uniform and footwear since 1930.  In 2015, State Schools’ Relief supported over 18,000 students with 76,000 items of school clothing and shoes.  These children, and their families assisted, are facing hardship due to a range of adverse life events or situations.  We are alleviating some of those hardships and supporting children to take their place in their school communities.
